Topic Talks 2021 NBA Mock Draft

The 2021 NBA Draft is coming up in just 6 days! This year's draft looks like one of the best there have been with future stars like Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Suggs, Josh Green and Jonathan Kuminga. The Top 5 seems to be set in stone, but what is going to happen after that?

THE TOP FIVE

1. Detroit Pistons- Cade Cunningham(6-8, G/F Oklahoma State)

Needs: Everything

The have some intriguing talent in Saddiq Bey, Isaiah Stewart, Sekou Doumbouya and Killian Hayes. Then the type of hungry talents looking to stay in the league like Dennis Smith Jr, Hamidou Diallo and Josh Jackson can become good pieces as well if they stick around. But adding a great talent is always a plus and Cade Cunningham absolutely checks that box. He has the size and athleticism to play 1-3, kind of like Luka Doncic. If the Piston keep playing

it smart, they are on the same great draft building path as the Thunder once were.

2. Houston Rockets- Evan Mobley(7-0, C USC)

Needs: Everything

Just like Detroit, Houston needs everything and then some. After failing to win now with James Harden, the Rockets are pretty bare at this point. They have a couple good young pieces in Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr, but they need someone that has franchise player potential. Mobley is an athletic big that could play alongside Wood in the 4 or 5 spots. Houston could go with a guard in Green or Suggs as well, but Mobley is the best available at this point.

3. Cleveland Cavaliers- Jalen Green(6-6, G/F G-League Ignite)

Needs: A franchise player to excite the fanbase

It is no secret that the Cavaliers have been, well... awful without LeBron James. A possible franchise player that can excite the fans and give some hope is a must and there are options in this years draft. Jalen Green seems to fit that role the best right now. A super athletic wing with loads of potential, Green can play either wing spot with his size and athleticism. He is the type of highlight reel player that could really get the juices going for a crowd.

4. Toronto Raptors- Jalen Suggs(6-4, G Gonzaga)

Needs: Kyle Lowry replacement and possible star

Suggs is my absolute favorite player in this draft. I haven't seen a player with his change of direction since John Wall or Derrick Rose. He has the size and speed to player either guard position, which is great for Toronto as he could play alongside Fred VanVleet. He has the potential to a franchise guard as well and with the Kyle Lowry era coming to an end soon, this looks like Torontos best bet.

5. Orlando Magic- Jonathan Kuminga(6-8, F G-League Ignite)

Needs: Everything

Well here we are again for the Orlando Magic. It is rebuilding time. They spent some time in the equivalent of professional purgatory and finally gave up on their roster. Looking to get back to the top of the East is going to be a tough task, but it is possible and Orlando has done it before, they just have to be smart. This is where Kuminga comes in. He can player either forward spot depending on the type of lineup you want. He can defend 1-4 in todays NBA. He has shown flashes of playmaking ability. He has plenty of room to grow but has the potential to be a big time wing player in this league and the Magic need all they help they can get.

THE REST

6. Oklahoma City Thunder- Scottie Barnes(6-9, F Florida State)

7. Golden State Warriors- James Bouknight(6-5, SG UConn)

8. Orlando Magic- Keon Johnson(6-5, SG Tennessee)

9. Sacramento Kings- Ziare Williams(6-8, F/G Stanford)

10. New Orleans Pelicans- Davion Mitchell(6-2, PG Baylor)
