College football and college basketball each have their Top 25. Polls that are looked forward to every week. College football has their Sundays and College basketball has their Mondays. The NFL does have their power rankings that most sites do which includes all 32 teams. I wanted something different. I want to give some excitement for games. Where there are big time upsets and anticipated games of “Top 5” teams for the NFL. When Top 10 teams meet in college football, it is the talk of the week. In the NFL, it’s only part of the talk. It’s only part of the hype. I want to help give the NFL a college feel for fans watching the games. Now, at least at Topic Talk, there is an NFL Top 10 that will be updated every Tuesday. With teams moving up and down based on who they beat and performanc, just like in the college Top 25 polls.
1. New England Patriots 1-0(2)
2. Dallas Cowboys 1-0(4)
3. Kansas City Chiefs 1-0 (1)
4. Los Angeles Rams 1-0(3)
5. New Orleans Saints 1-0(5)
6. Baltimore Ravens 1-0(9)
7. Los Angeles Chargers 1-0(6)
8. Philadelphia Eagles 1-0(7)
9. Houston Texans 0-1(8)
10. Minnesota Vikings 1-0(NR)
The Patriots started off the season with easily the best win after plowing through a Pittsburgh Steelers team that many think will compete for a spot in the Super Bowl. The Cowboys and Chiefs each dominated their opponents as their young QB’s threw for 405 yards and 4 TD’s(Prescott) and 378 yards and 3 TD’s(Mahomes). The Ravens beat the Dolphins so bad that players were literally requesting to be traded right after the game. The Chargers proved for at least one week that Melvin Gordon wasn’t needed to beat a good Colts team. The Texans are the only team without a win at the moment, but they played the Saints in the best game of the week.
